As a newborn colt. And I would know how skittish they are as my daughter spends every moment that she can with horses. Especially newborn horses.
It could also be said that I am skittish as an adopted half grown cat. Of which we have two as of this morning. And they are terrified of everything and are literally climbing the screens.
Why am I skittish? I am afraid that everything that I say will be traced by right wing McCarthy-ists. And that really REALLY pisses me off.
I have a right to my religion.
I have a right to write about my religion and send it out into the world.
They have a right to hate and fear me. But they do not have a right to censor me. They do not have a right to make me feel as though my children and my friends are threatened because they are associated with the likes of me.
I had a history teacher once who put this most eloquently:
"Your right to extend your fist ends when it hits my face".
And that's what "they" did. "They" hit me in the face. Just because I was there.

I wish I could think of something to say to give you comfort. All I can do is tell you I am totally on your side.
You have new cats?
Two of them :-) A gal at C's work had two that nobody had chosen to take home. So they are now here on our porch. That brings us to a total of 5 porch cats.
Sending good thoughts and energy your way, Hon! :)
Kitties!
They have no right to harm you and those you love. May Michael and I light a candle of protection and one for positive energy for you and yours?
Your Avatar makes you look so tall ;-)
You never really know, do ya, who is out there judging you.
Names of adopted kitties?? Keep collecting them so I can tell Brian someone I know has more than we do. He grumbles some about my spirit friends.
Jaspanelle, by all means. Light the candles. We need all the help we can get!
PG: Yes, Not only does it make me look tall, but also built like Angelina Jolie, which is so far off the mark it doesn't even register on the scale!
The kitties: Spooky, a black cat. Cho Chang, a buff with crystal blue eyes. Oreo Cookie, a long hair with a phantom of the opera mask and a gray and black striped tail. Kudzu, a Parkinson's Disease cat, very old, whom I have yet to actually pet, but who comes here to eat.
The two new ones are Smokey, gray with a white belly. (lina named him) and Garfield, (named by huck) Guess what he looks like.
There are also 4 stray black labs that come here for breakfast every morning. I don't know where they belong. But the kids call them Baby, Missy, Victor and Licorice.
