Bacchanalia and Ear Pain

We only thought Huck was better. His fever came back with ear pain about 7 PM on the 24th. He cried half the night because he was hurting so badly. Meds kick in, then he's okay. They wear off, he's crying again. And he isn't one to cry.

Lina and Huck got up and 2:09 AM for the presents. Chris and I were back in the bed by 3, up again a little after 5.

I couldn't take Huck to the Dr. yesterday because everything was closed. Which meant that we still did the acetaminophen, ibuprofen regimen to give him relief. But he still cried about half the night. And bless him, he was even trying to lay my hair over his ears because my hair always makes him feel better.

To sum it all up, we were at the Dr's office this morning when they opened. And his bilateral "really bad" (nice medical term, don't you think? But that really is what the Dr. said)ear infection is now being treated with antibiotics.

So, neither Huck nor I have done any more than nap and doze in 4 days.

Now for the bacchanalia part. I got Seasons 1-6 of CSI Las Vegas on DVD. Chris got an iPod. Lina and Huck got everything in the entire world, up to and including a BB gun. Eep!

The poor little guy! :(

I used to get those when I was about his age. They were horrible! I hope that he feels better soon!

P.S. Gerard just called me from the bedroom to tell me to come back to bed. He said to say "Hey"! ;P

When I was small, they would warm up sweet oil and put that in my ears and then cotton. It helped soothe them, anyway. When I was old, I would rest my ear on a heating pad or hot water bottle.

Glad you got to the doctor. There is nothing scarier than a sick child who can't be comforted.

Poor baby. My son used to get those all the time too. I hate it when my kids hurt. No matter if it is a physical pain or a pain from the heart. It kills me.

...lucky duck. I love CSI.
