Yesterday the kids and I watched the Wizard of Oz. They hadn't seen it in years so I got them to sit down and watch it with me. They loved it. Then Huck started reading Calvin and Hobbes. Lina finally finished cleaning her room and is working on her 84,000th read of the Harry Potter series. She's up to Prisoner of Azkaban. I finished reading "Ya-Yas in Bloom", then I watched "All About Eve". I'm sure my couch has a permanent indention in the shape of my ass.
We actually had about 1/2" of snow when we woke up yesterday morning, so we were inspired to pretend we were snowed in. We stayed in our jammies all day and didn't even take a bath. They had hot chocolate in front of the fire after they went outside and had a snowball fight and made snow angels. Yes, with only 1/2" of snow. We take our winter fun however we can get it.
My new fridge comes tomorrow (yay!)

The kids got a "Snow Day" from school for a half inch of snow?!!!!
You have GOT to be kidding me!!
We had about of foot of snow and really were snowbound for most of Saturday. The only snow angels were made by the dog!
It is snowing here in the House in the Forest (again) and the kids and I are recovering from a 2 day homeschooling conference. I did a quick clean of the house and plan on staying in pajamas all day and knitting. It's only right.
We had about 2 inches, but north west of Nashville there were places that got up to 12 inches.
Tigeryogiji, yes, half an inch of snow can close things down in the South (although it was Sat, so her kids weren't actually missing school). Around here, snow typically starts as rain, which then either turns to freezing rain or freezes on the roadways, leaving a layer of ice under the 1/2 in of snow. Then idiots try to drive and have accidents because they don't know how to drive on ice.
In middle TN, from 5pm Fri (when it started snowing) to about 9am Sat (when it started melting), there were 130 reported accidents.
sounds like a glorious day to me!!

Good for you and your resourcefulness. It's probably hard to make all that fun with just a 1/2 inch of snow.
