It took my entire Spring Break plus a few days, so I officially win the Mother of the Year award, sacrificial thing that I am. Now, my 10 1/2 year old has the room of the "tween" that she is. It only cost about $150 to completely change her room. $40 for paint (4 different colors!)$50 for the bed-in-a-bag and $30 for the quirky tree lamp, $20 for the curtains and tiebacks.

oh wow! I love what you have done with it!!!
She is going to to feel so good about herself in that room. There is nothing like the cheery feel of a freshly painted room. It makes me walk like I got my shit together.
Oh I love it... I need to paint here too, I get lost in the colors... Where did you find that cute little table and chairs, we have been looking for something like that for Rhi's room for 6 months now... I dont like anything I see... Again great job ...
CUTE!
And I never type in all caps.
It looks great!
Thanks :-)
Draven, I found the table and chairs at a junk store. It was painted dark green and brown, and I think I paid $30 for it.
Looks awesome!!!
Wanna come up and tackle the girls' room?

WOW! And it's CLEAN!! How long do you suppose it will stay that way? I have a 10 year old girl, too, who would totally LOVE to have that room I'm sure. And if she were in it, it wouldn't stay clean for more than a couple of days, tops. Clothes, wet towels on the floor, bed unmade (I love the bed clothes, btw), tween girl kitsch all over the dresser and falling on the floor, papers and markers or crayons on the table and falling onto the floor. I think you should take another photo in a week or two, post it and let us see if she keeps it clean.
Congrats on the good, hard work. You definitely get extra bonus good mommy points for this.
You are so talented! I want her room!
I know she will enjoy it in there. She can dream of unicorns and rainbows.
Fabulous! I'm sure she loves it!
Delightful!
Your daughter's room is lovely. It will go on nicely to be a "teen" room. We painted our daughter's room when she was a teen - in a vivid aqua. Now that room is my art room/office and that eye-boggling color is still there!
I love the pastels. Looks like Easter eggs. The table is adorable. You did a wonderful job. You indeed get the mother of the year award.
*Trumpets blaring for Mother of the Year* You do indeed win the award. Very cute, and kudos for geting such a good deal on the table and chairs.
