drama

Chris got a new prescription to help with his back pain. (Have I mentioned that he is in moderate to severe pain 24/7?) This morning at about 4 am, he came to bed and said that his back was perfect; no pain at all. Wow! Yay!

Unfortunately, he had an adverse reaction to the wonderdrug by 5 am and we had to go the the ER this morning to combat the reaction. He was in such bad shape on the way to the hospital that I put the caution lights on in the car and drove 75 mph in 45 mph zones, and ran stop signs and red lights. He was that bad off. It occurred to me, while I was wrecklessly driving that perhaps we should have called an ambulance, but as we live 20 miles from everywhere, I knew I could get him to the hospital faster than an ambulance could get to us.

The doctors hopefully fixed him, and he is sleeping now, at home, though I have been just spastic enough to go and check to make sure he is breathing. He will be fine, but we are going to flush that wonderdrug down the toilet!

Holy cow. I'm glad he wasn't home alone when this happened.

Oh my gods!!! What the heck was he on (so MY own chonric pain patient hubby can avoid it)?!?

I am so glad that they were able to get his allergic reaction under control and that he is back at home.

The poor dear!
