A Good Sign

I rarely do book reviews here, though I am quite the avid reader. Today, I need to make an exception. Suzanne Brockmann has been a national bestselling novelist for years. She writes romantic suspense.

But this is the best part. In the book that I am currently reading, (Force of Nature) there are two couples. One of them is male/female and the other is male/male. This is a main stream best selling novel that was actually a Selection of the Month at Rhapsody (the romance novel book club)and I am thrilled that both love stories are treated the same way. The yearnings of the gay characters are written about in the same way as the yearnings of the straight characters.

It is my dream that same sex couples and biracial couples will not even cause a blip on anyone's radar in the very near future. Suzanne Brockmann is doing her part to make this a reality. Bravo!

How wonderful! I tell ppls all the time I don't care what sex or color the eventual life-mates my children bring home are.

That is a good thing. Every story I write always has at least one male/male couple. And in most cases every main charactor is gay.

Well there you go. Isn't that wonderful progress? I agree wholeheartedly in your dream that same sex couples and interracial couples aren't even noticed as different or unusual. Very soon would be GOOD!

Might want to check out my last post today. I address this issue there. ( http://javajones-mylife.blogspot.com )
