Jesus Christ Superstar - Superstar

This is my all time favorite musical EVER. I know every word and note from start to finish. I've seen it live twice, with Ted Neely as Jesus and Carl Anderson as Judas.

OMGS

I have loved this musical since I was 7 or 8 and listening to it on my parents' 8-track player.

One of my favorite lines was and is:

"if every tongue were stilled the noise would still continue, the rocks and stones themselves would start to sing"

I'll have to go back and watch this musical.--I"ve only watched clips of it really, on t.v.

When I was growing up, our youth group performed the musical, Godspell every year. My goodness, was it transformative to everyone who participated, and of course, the audience.

"On the Willows There" would bring me to tears everytime.

I wonder what the essential difference is between these two musicals--in terms of style and presentation.

It's almost like Auburn and Alabama. Some are loyal to JCS and others to GS. Yet they're both really powerful

You don't even need to watch it. Grab the 20th anniversary recording and groove along..

I still say this show hinges on Judas. If you have a great Judas, you have a great show. I think he should get top billing ;)

This was wonderful, especially back in the day, when Hippies Ruled the Earth (just kidding about that last bit, even if it really felt like it at the time).

Since we're talking about music, please stop by Morgan's Musings if you like Irish traditional music:

High Kings/Clancy Brothers videos

Cheers!
