Twice in Three Days...
Chris has a subscription to Men's Health (how gay is he, I ask you?) Lo and behold when I saw it while looking through the mail today, who was on the cover? My very own Gerry Butler! Mineminemineminemine.
I actually gasped when I saw it. Lina and Huck were doing homework in the living room, heard my sharp intake of breath and asked me what was wrong. Naturally, I had to take the magazine to them and show them exactly why I gasped. They are so used to my obsessive neurosis that they just rolled their eyes and got back to their homework.
Chris is so sweet. When I told him about my reaction he said I could keep that issue for my very own. I could even keep it under the mattress where all the other special stuff...nevermind, that's personal.

A Good Sign
I rarely do book reviews here, though I am quite the avid reader. Today, I need to make an exception. Suzanne Brockmann has been a national bestselling novelist for years. She writes romantic suspense.
But this is the best part. In the book that I am currently reading, (Force of Nature) there are two couples. One of them is male/female and the other is male/male. This is a main stream best selling novel that was actually a Selection of the Month at Rhapsody (the romance novel book club)and I am thrilled that both love stories are treated the same way. The yearnings of the gay characters are written about in the same way as the yearnings of the straight characters.
It is my dream that same sex couples and biracial couples will not even cause a blip on anyone's radar in the very near future. Suzanne Brockmann is doing her part to make this a reality. Bravo!

Homosexicals
One of our boy cats, Oreo Cookie, was making that "I want a little sump'n sump'n" sound. You know the one. It's part purr and part meow. So what did he do? Started sniffing around Garfield, another male cat. Keep in mind that Cho Chang, a female, was less than two feet from him. Cookie ignored her and bit the back of Garfield's neck and climbed up on that thang.

I LOVE this movie. It's a little Harry Potter, a little Music Man, a little Beverly Hillbillies, a little Annie, Helen Reddy, a drunken Mickey Rooney. Really...what more do you need?
Also, a light house is one of my happy places. Specifically, what we see in Brazzle Dazzle Day (which can be found from this YouTube video), from this movie. I often see myself here, in this very lighthouse with the little cottage tacked on to the side of it.
