So Broke We Can't Even Pay Attention

Money is tight here at Nestlewood. Lina has a $400 field trip in T.A.G. And a field trip to the state capitol and a field trip to the circus. Huck has a birthday party next week that is going to eat up $100. We paid for Chris' passport this week for his trip to Europe in November. Bottom line: we ain't got no damn money.

Today is our 14th wedding anniversary. I gave blood not long ago and LifeSouth Blood Services gave me two movie tickets and a buy one get one free meal at a local restaurant for my pint. And, bless our hearts, we are using these to go out on our anniversary.

This is not at all a pity party. It's actually pretty hilarious, and the story of the past 14 years.

First of all I love the title of this post and may use it as a personal reminder to take our finanical situation a little less seriously.

Secondly, I "won" 2 movie passes at work and may just hold on to them for MY 14th anniv. this May ... now I just need to work on a discounted meal.

Third - Happy Anniversary

It's sounds like you're already richer than a lot of folks out there. You have a loving, wonderful, family!

Happy Anniversary!!!

Holy crap, someone need to remind that TAG teacher that parents aren't made of money! Mine would have shit their pants at a $400 field trip.

Oh, and tell Chris to go sell some plasma so y'all can have a glass of wine with dinner. lol

Have a lovely anniversary!

Happy Anniversary! I had to laugh at the title. Apparently, we seem to be on the same cruise liner. It's the same story in our household. I'm glad your getting dinner and a movie for your anniversary though...things always work out in the weirdest way, don't they?

Happy Happy.
You guys have a great time.

It's about the same around here. As my grandma used to say..."not a bucket to pee in nor a window to throw it out of" Money doesn't live here. lol.

Between field trips and picture days, I was always trying to play catch up. And explain to me just why, they need pictures taken twice a year now?

Happy Anniversary to you two!
I can't believe it's been 14 years. Wow.
Do you still have that lovely brown & cream dress? Somewhere, I have pictures from the courthouse that day. Whenever I come across them again, I'll make copies and send them to you.
Peace, Love, etc.

What is a TAG program? Why does it suck non-existent funds from folks?

See all that I miss homeschooling the younguns?

Happy Anniversary! Things will get better...and if they don't, remember, the bill collector can't eat ya! My southern friend used to say that all the time.

"So broke we can't even pay attention" LOL!! That's the way it's been at the Fredericksen house for many, many years now. Glad you can put such a positive spin on it!
